He  was  always  an observer, and  watching  and studying  human  life  and emotions ,  always  fantasized  him.  That’s  the  reason   which  prompted  him  to  take  up  journalism  when  he  was  still  in college.  Sports  and  extra  curricular  activities  were  other  field  of  interest  for  this  young  Director.  His  family  wanted  him  to  go  to either  U.S  or  Canada  after  his studies,  but  Vikkas’s  destiny  had  something  else  instored.  He  was  always  passionate  about  films,  and  loved  watching  Mumbai  city  thru  films.  He  always  wanted  to  visit   Mumbai  but  couldn’t  plan  the  trip as  he  was  engrossed  in  a  lot  of  things.  Then  suddenly  there  was  an opportunity  which  came  by  chance,  a  friend  had  some  official  work ,  and  Vikkas  thought  that  it  was  a  good  opportunity  to  do  a race of  the  great  city.  He  says  that  when  he  landed  in Mumbai,  he  had  this  sudden  rush  inside  him,  and  something  told  him  that  this  is  the place  where  he  really  belonged.  He decided  to  stay  here  forever.  However  his  family  and  friends  thought  that  he  is  simply in awe  of  the  big  city and  the  hardships  and  struggle  for  survival  will  soon  melt  him  down.  But  as  we  say  fortune  favors’  the  brave.  He  went  around  to  meet  directors  so  he  could  get  a  chance  to  assist  them.  Easier  said  then  done.  He  however  was  lucky  or  maybe  his  talent  was  recognized  soon.  Anubhav  sinha  was  looking  for  young  dynamic  and  hardworking  assistants.  Vikkas  met  him  by  accident,  and  went  on  to  assist  him  in  two  of  his  major  films    namely  DUS  and  TATHASTU.  Being  a  director  is  not  easy  and  demands  a  huge  physical  and  mental  hardships.  But  he  went  on very  patiently  about  his  job,  and  educated  himself  very  practically.  It  was  a  very  grueling  phase  of  his  life  as  go  to  sleep only  for  4 hrs max.  After  the  films  got  released,  he  had a lot of options,  many  big  production  houses  and  Directors  wanted  him  to assist  them,  but  by  them  he  had  already  dreamt  of  making  films,  with  his  own  creativity  and  name.  Once  again  it  sounds  simple  and  takes  a lot  of conviction  to  be  an  independent  director.  He  started  by  doing  punjabi  and Hindi  Music  albums.  His  album with Raj Brar  and  Honey  singh  is hit  to  the  core.

He  has  also  directed  a  couple  of  promotional  or  “Item  numbers”  for  films.  The  promotional  song  of  the  sequel  of  Tom Dick  and  Harry  is  directed  by  him.  After  the  rave  reviews  the  producer  asked  him  to  direct  other  two  songs  of  the  film  as  well.  The  film  boasts  of  stars  like  Aryaman,  Suresh  menon,  Mika  etc….

They  are  played  in  discos and  pubs  all  over  the  country  and  also  in  the  U.K  disc  circles (List  of  songs  are  down  below).  He  is  now  full  of  confidence  which  he  has  acquired  with  a  lot  of  hard work  and  patience.  He  is  now  restless  and  raring  to  go  one  step  ahead  and  makes  films  which  is close  to  his  heart.  Under  the  name  of   Dutt  Films  he  has  opened  his  own  production  house  and  has  a  couple  of  interesting  scripts.

God-willing,  if  things  goes  as  per  plan,  he will  start  making  his  first  film  very  soon.  Also  he  was  awarded  the  prestigious  the  most  upcoming  director  award  by  the  All India Human rights.  Wishing  Mr. Vikkas  Dutt  all  the  best,  and  may  God  reward  him  for  his  persistent  hard work.
